English Support lessons
The English Language department offers a mixture of EFL (English as a Foreign Language), EAP (English for Academic Purposes), and Business English and Study Skills programmes for pre-sessional and in-sessional students at KCB.
The department also offers programmes providing preparation for external examinations (e.g. IELTS and Cambridge First Certificate) for full-time EFL students. (Please note that the examinations are not currently offered by the College and would have to be arranged Independently.)
An important feature of the English Department is that it offers support classes –throughout the academic year – to students undertaking a main course at KCB. If you feel that you need extra help in the mechanics of the English language (spelling, grammar, punctuation, usage), you may ‘drop in’ for a three-hour weekly session (or more, depending on your main timetable).
The English Department also runs an 8-week summer support programme entitled ‘English for Business’.
